We invite you to dine at GSR Thali and be a part of our story. GSR stands for Shri Girdhari Lal Seth and Shrimati Sitarani Seth, my beloved grandparents whose legacy and values inspire our every endeavor. By choosing to eat here, you not only indulge in a delicious meal but also contribute to our ongoing efforts to make a positive impact on the lives of those in need. Every meal enjoyed at GSR Thali enables us to continue honoring the compassionate spirit of Shri Girdhari Lal Seth and Shrimati Sitarani Seth, as we strive to nourish both bodies and souls.
GSR Thali emerged as a beacon of hope and compassion during the unprecedented Covid-19 lockdown in India. What began as an empty hall transformed into a sanctuary of support, where we extended a helping hand to the hungry migrants from all parts of India. With the collective efforts of numerous kind-hearted individuals, we were able to provide free meals to over 18,000 people during the initial 15-day lockdown period.
As the world grappled with the effects of the pandemic, we witnessed the plight of those most affected by the crisis—the migrant workers left stranded without food or means to sustain themselves. Inspired by a deep sense of empathy and driven by a desire to make a difference, GSR Thali came into being.
The impact of our collective efforts extended far beyond providing meals. We witnessed smiles returning to faces burdened with worry, and a renewed sense of resilience emerged within the community. GSR Thali became a symbol of solidarity, reminding us that even in the face of adversity, the power of kindness and compassion could bring about meaningful change.
As the lockdown measures gradually eased, we realized that our work was not yet complete. GSR Thali evolved into a restaurant with a mission—to continue serving exceptional food while upholding the values of empathy and generosity that defined its origins. We carry forward the spirit of our initial endeavor, striving to create a welcoming space where everyone can enjoy a satisfying meal and experience the warmth of human connection.
